The Kingdom of An Tir is pleased to announce the release of the Kingdom of An Tir Newcomers’ Academy! Based on a program taught to newcomers since 2017, the Kingdom of An Tir Newcomers’ Academy offers a well-rounded overview of our Society! With classes on SCA History, Etiquette, Activities, Heraldry, Awards and Peerage, and much more, students benefit from a structured program where they can meet established members of our Realm, get a better sense of our Society, make friends, and are often inspired to become more active members of our Kingdom!
Classes are taught online by Regional Education Deputies under the office of the Kingdom Chatelaine. They are held once a month in a staggered schedule, so if students miss any classes, it is easy for them to get the link to pick up their missing class in another region. There are six classes in each program:
- History of the SCA
- Activities in the SCA
- Etiquette in the SCA
- Make Your Own T-Tunic
- An Explanation of Heraldry and Regalia in the SCA
- An Explanation of Awards and Peerage in the SCA
